Hawaiian Airlines parent Hawaiian Holdings, Inc has announced the return of airline industry veteran Donald J. Carty to its board of directors.
This will be the third term for Carty who also served on the board from July 2004 to February 2007 and again in April 2008 to May 2011.
Carty was until recently chairman of the board of Virgin America, a position he held until the recent acquisition by Alaska Air.
He was also chairman and chief executive officer for AMR Corp and American Airlines, and president and CEO of Canadian Pacific Air Lines.
Carty is also a director of Canadian National Railway Company.
"Don Carty possesses deep experience with and understanding of both the airline industry and publicly traded companies and we are delighted to welcome him back to the boardroom," said Lawrence Hershfield, chairman of the board of Hawaiian Holdings.
