Alaska Air appoints airport operations MD

Alaska Airlines has named veteran Matt Prainito as managing director, station operations.
Prainito will oversee all airport operations and customer service functions nationwide outside its Seattle hub.
A recipient of the Alaska Airlines Leadership Award in 2012, Prainito has been at Alaska for 18 years, and previously led airport operations in Washington, Oregon and northern California, responsible for on-time performance, staffing and safety compliance at 17 West Coast airports.
"Award winning customer service is central to Alaska’s identity. Matt is a savvy and determined leader who truly embodies the customer-oriented spirit of Alaska Airlines," said Jeff Butler, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of airport operations and customer service.
Prainito, who is also a qualified private pilot, began his Alaska Airlines career as a customer service agent in 1997, progressively moving up the career ladder into operations leadership roles.
