Alaska Air, Virgin America relocating to T7 at JFK

Alaska Airlines and Virgin America will relocate and consolidate flight operations at New York JFK Terminal 7 by October.
Seattle-based Alaska Airlines moves from its current base at JFK’s Terminal 8 and Virgin America from Terminal 4.
The combined airline business will join global partners British Airways, Qantas and Icelandair at T7.
British Airways also unveiled a $65 million revamp of facilities at the terminal.
"Our focus is on integrating Alaska Airlines and Virgin America operations at JFK to enable future growth," said Alaska CCO Andrew Harrison.
"Having convenient connections and a streamlined operation are keys to delivering a positive guest experience."
Alaska Air plans to build a new lounge at the terminal which will open in early 2018.
Alaska Air Group recently announced plans to discontinue the Virgin America brand in 2019.
