Alaska Airlines launching new San Diego-Hawaii route
Alaska Airlines said it will launch a new route from San Diego to Kona beginning early next year.
The flights take to the air from March 5, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays year-round.
Daniel Chun, Alaska’s regional manager of sales and community marketing in Hawaii said it will be operated by a dedicated Kona-based airplane, which flies to Oakland and San Jose in the Bay Area on the days it doesn’t serve San Diego.
"We’re adding one more daily flight to Kona when this service starts, this is in addition to the daily service that we have between the Bay Area and Kona currently."
Alaska flies up to 74 times a week to Kona from Anchorage, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, Oakland and San Jose.
