Alaska Airlines passenger get cash, free counselling

Alaska Airlines has offered passengers on the flight that lost a door plug $1,500 in compensation with no strings attached.

On top of this, they get a full refund and free access to counselling if they wish.

“Alaska Airlines provided a full refund. As an immediate gesture, we also provided a $1,500 cash payment to cover any incidental expenses.,” the airline said.

“The payment was provided without any stipulations or conditions.”

The Boeing 737 Max 9 jet had to make am emergency landing back at Portland, Oregon when a panel for an optional emergency exit blew out at 16,000 feet.

The plane landed with just a few minor injuries.

These passengers haveaccess to mental health resources and counseling sessions’ by Alaska Air partner Empathia.

“We continue to work with passengers to address their specific needs and concerns,” an airline spokesperson said.

Last week, the first passenger lawsuit was filed against plane maker Boeing but Alaska Airlines was not named as a defendant.

The FAA has launched an investigation into Boeing.
