Allegiant Air appoints new president

Allegiant Air has named hospitality industry veteran John Redmond as new president.
Redmond is a former president and chief executive officer of MGM Grand Resorts and previously served on Allegiant’s board of directors between 2007 and 2013.
The appointment takes effect Monday September 12.
"John Redmond brings unparalleled experience in the travel and hospitality industry with some of the world’s most successful companies — and he knows Allegiant well," said Allegiant chairman and CEO Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr.
"John is the ideal leader to build on our strengths and take the company to new heights of operational excellence, as an innovator in leisure travel."
Redmond has more than 30 years experience in hospitality and held several leadership roles with Caesars World Inc prior to joining MGM.
He also serves on the board of directors of Vail Resorts Inc.
