Amadeus e-Travel and TQ3 Travel Solutions Extend Global Reseller Agreement

Wednesday, 24 Jan, 2005 0

Madrid and London, 24 January 2005: e-Travel, the global leader in online travel solutions and the e-commerce unit of Amadeus, and TQ3 Travel Solutions, one of the world’s leading travel management companies, today announce the extension of a global reseller agreement. The 3.5 year extension of our agreement follows the adoption of e-Travel® Aergo and SAP Travel Management (SAP TM) powered by e-Travel, by several of TQ3’s multinational customers including Agfa (Aergo), Boehringer Ingelheim and Commerzbank (SAP TM), and the roll-out of TQ3 Business across Europe. TQ3 Business is an Aergo-based online portal for lightly managed business travel. It is an integral part of TQ3’s drive to help their customers realise the benefits of online travel management.

This strategic agreement deepens both companies’ commitment to delivering tailored solutions and services which are segmented to meet the needs of TQ3’s global corporate travel market. As part of this new deal TQ3 rolls out Aergo-based TQ3 Business to its mid-market clients in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Austria, Ireland, Czech Republic and Switzerland before the end of March 2005. Additionally, e-Travel has been selected as a preferred supplier for TQ3 Enterprise, TQ3’s online offer for large corporate customers.

Reinforcing their commitment to the industry, both parties will continue to invest significant funds in product development and online service support for TQ3 customers over the course of the agreement. Specifically, this includes setting up an EMEA support team and two centralised pan-European call centres.

Michel LaBianca, Chief Information Officer of TQ3, explains: “With more than 23.7% of our clients currently booking travel online, TQ3 is fully committed to providing its clients with industry-leading technology to help them more effectively manage their travel online. In light of this, we have extended our agreement with e-Travel and we will continue to work closely with e-Travel who we know deliver innovative solutions that provide real cost and time savings.”

Working with e-Travel, TQ3 will deliver a pre-configured, ready-to-deploy version of Aergo as well as customised versions of Aergo and SAP TM to its corporate customer base. Aergo will also power the travel component of All-u-Buy, TUI AG, TQ3’s parent organisation’s new Oracle-based procurement platform.

Ian Wheeler, Vice President, Marketing and Acting Managing Director, Amadeus e-Travel, adds: “The way corporations buy travel is changing. By taking travel management online, companies are able to save both time and money whilst still being able to enforce a corporate travel policy. Through our extended agreement with TQ3 we will work together to deliver solutions that bring benefits to our customers including cost efficiencies, process improvements, time savings, and enhanced productivity. This agreement also enables e-Travel to consolidate our foothold in the German corporate travel market because of TQ3’s strong market position there and we look forward to continuing to expand our relationship within the other markets in which TQ3 operates.”
