American Airlines is adding flights and increasing capacity on existing routes to Canada.

American will introduce daily flights to Vancouver beginning on May 4, 2018, and a seasonal service to Calgary from June 7, 2018.

Calgary service is operated by regional arm Envoy, using Embraer E175 aircraft.

There will also be an increase in frequencies from the US East Coast to Eastern Canada over the coming months.

"We began service to Canada over 75 years ago, making it our longest-served international destination. The country is filled with important businesses and exciting leisure destinations so it’s only natural that we are adding more flights and providing better schedules to explore all that the country has to offer," said Vasu Raja, VP of network & schedule planning.

Beginning Feb. 15, 2018, American is adding an extra daily round trip service from New York LaGuardia to Toronto Pearson, and from Ronald Reagan Washington National in May 2018.

American is aslo upgrading service to Ottawa from Philadelphia International Airport to three times a day year round, and extending service to Quebec City from Philly through November 3, 2018.

American will then offer up to 69 daily flights to seven Canadian cities from its hubs in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Washington, D.C.
