American Airlines has significantly expanded its Hurricane travel waiver to include more than 50 airports.

It has also expanded special ‘evacuee’ fares of $99 economy and $199 in the premium cabin to airports still open in Georgia and South Carolina including Savannah, Charleston, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach.

It applies to all single leg flights until September 17.

American shut down operations in Miami on Friday and will not restart flights until tomorrow at the earliest.

Meanwhile Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport said in a tweet it has not made a decision yet to reopen as it is still assessing damage.
