American Airlines launching 20 new seasonal routes
American Airlines is adding eight all-new domestic routes for summer 2020 in a total of 20 new seasonal routes.
Starting next June, it includes service to weekend destinations Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket in Massachusetts from Philadelphia, and new flights from Miami to Jackson, Mississippi and Des Moines, Iowa.
Next summer, Traverse City is added to the network map with direct service from Philadelphia and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, and a new Saturday service will launch connecting Dallas-Fort Worth to the city of Portland, Maine.
"Every year, we evaluate our network and look to create more routes and serve unique destinations whether we’re entering new markets like Casablanca or adding more service to places like Traverse City, Michigan," Vasu Raja, American’s senior vice president of network strategy, said in a statement.
Casablanca, Morocco becomes American’s first foray into Africa with seasonal service out of Philadelphia.
The airline also announced seasonal service from Chicago O’Hare to Krakow, Poland Prague, Czech Republic, and Budapest, Hungary.
