American facing jail in Thailand for scathing TripAdvisor hotel review
A US citizen living in Thailand could be jailed for penning a negative review for a hotel in Thailand.
The Sea View Resort on Koh Chang Island says Wesley Barnes has been posting multiple reviews and filed a police complaint for defamation.
The hotel claimed Barnes made ‘xenophobic’ comments and accusations of ‘modern day slavery.’ He was arrested and is currently on bail. He could face two years’ prison due to Thailand’s strict defamation laws.
