Japan carrier All Nippon Airways plans a big push in the US market after being granted three new daytime slots out of Tokyo Haneda Airport.
Two of these slots will be used to start services to New York and Chicago with an expected launch date of October 30, subject to regulatory approval.
Once the two routes begin, ANA will serve five North American markets from Haneda.
It already flies to Los Angeles, Honolulu and Vancouver.
The airline also serves several US destinations including New York and Chicago from the more distant Narita Airport in Tokyo.
ANA will also start flying daily to Mexico City from Tokyo Narita, using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
That service will commence in February 2017.
