Armed robber hails Uber for getaway car

Tuesday, 13 October 20153 min read
Thinking he could probably save money by not having to split his ill-gotten gains with a getaway driver, a suspected armed robber simply ordered an Uber ride to make good his escape.
After holding up a Baltimore store at gunpoint, 23-year old Dashawn Terrell Cochran was seen running from the scene and getting into a silver Lexus vehicle.
When it was eventually pulled over by police, the unwitting driver explained he worked for Uber and was released along with a second passenger taking the Uber pool service who officers determined ‘had nothing to do with the robbery.’
Cochran was arrested and charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and theft.
He is being held on $500,000 bail.
