ASTA promotes value of agents on TV
The American Society of Travel Agents is taking its core message – promoting the value of travel agents – into the homes of travel consumers.
ASTA has produced a series of TV ‘infomercials’ which are being aired on over 100 PBS TV stations through 2014.
The public interest broadcasting ads will run 4-6 minutes long and will be shown between programs in secondary markets.
ASTA said the campaign is being sponsored by Silversea Cruises.
"These powerful ads are just one element of our ongoing multimedia campaign to influence consumer perception that travel professionals add value to the travel-buying process," said ASTA CEO Zane Kerby.
Last month ASTA began a digital and social media campaign entitled ‘My Travel Agent Gets Me There.’
The campaign directs consumers to ASTA’s website travelsense.org, which matches consumers with a suitable ASTA member agent.
