BA faces more disruption with summer strike threat
Airport disruption could soon get worse for summer holidaymakers.
British Airways check-in staff at Heathrow are set to be balloted for possible strike action.
The dispute is over pay.
About 500 BA staff will be balloted in June and a yes vote could see a walkout during July, at the height of the peak season.
Unite, the union, says the 10% pay cut imposed during the pandemic will not be restored.
“BA has now reversed the pay cuts imposed on management but refuses to do this for our members. This is disgraceful,” the union said.
“Unite will not allow our members to be treated as a second-class workforce.”
“A strike by our members will make an immediate impact on the service to customers, so I urge BA to get a grip,” Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said:
