BA to operate flights powered by first UK-produced SAF
British Airways will become the first carrier operating regular flights powered by UK processed sustainable aviation fuel. It comes from the Phillips 66 Humber Refinery in North Lincolnshire which is scaling up production for the aviation industry.
BA has signed a multi-year supply agreement. It says it will cut emissions by more than 100,000 tonnes. The airline plans to launch its first SAF-powered flights in early-2022. Parent International Airlines Group is targeting 10% of flights powered by renewable fuel by the end of the.2020s.
