BAA takes £40m hit after trio of disruptions

The ash cloud, British Airways strikes and snow will cost BAA £40 million, the airports operator has confirmed.

But it said the impact of triple whammy will be largely offset by increased passenger numbers and higher spending at airport shops.

It investor report, released yesterday, said annual earnings will come in £10 million down to £946 million for the year.
