Bermuda disappointed as Royal Caribbean ditches homeport plan
Bermuda’s tourism industry has reacted with dismay at the news Royal Caribbean is scrapping plans to homeport a ship. Vision of the Seas was to be based in Bermuda but with meaningful progress on restarting US cruises, the line has decided to focus on the US.
Bermuda Tourism Authority said it had been working with the cruise line for months to make it happen and demand had been good. However, there is some good news as the Viking Orion cruise ship will spend the early summer sailing out of Hamilton..
