Low cost carrier Frontier Airlines has unveiled a big route expansion adding nearly a dozen new routes.
The big beneficiaries are Colorado Springs travelers with access to seven new routes and four at Las Vegas.
From June Frontier will begin flying from Colorado Springs to Chicago O’Hare daily, thrice weekly to San Francisco and to Los Angeles four times a week, all on a seasonal basis.
The following month it kicks off flights to Washington Dulles and San Diego.
Additionally, routes to Fort Myers and Tampa will begin sometime ‘later this fall’ the carrier said.
From Las Vegas, year round flights begin in the summer to Bismarck and Sioux Falls in the Dakotas, Indianapolis and Washington Dulles.
The expansion has been warmly welcomed at Colorado Springs, which is only a short drive from Frontier’s main hub at Denver.
"We continue to be extremely pleased with the growth at the Colorado Springs Airport and the commitment displayed to our city by Frontier Airlines. It’s up to us to support the investment of Frontier and other carriers in our community," said Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers.
