Biz travelers turn to mid-priced hotels
So if you’re a business traveler, you would choose the most expensive place to spend the night, as long as you have a choice? Right? That perception is wrong, according to a study by Travel Leaders Corporate.
Their study of an astonishing 615,000 business travelers found the top chains used for business travel are not high-end but mid-priced hotels.
"What this data shows us is that our clients are focused on managing their expenses and looking for value," said David Holyoke, Travel Leaders’ Corporate President.
Travel Leaders Corporate’s data found that Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, and Hilton Garden Inn were four of the top five most booked chains in terms of room nights during the first quarter of 2012.
"These chains are outpacing the more marquee brands within a hotel group’s portfolio," Holyoke said. "This is reflective of a continuing trend among US corporations, including our clientele, to manage hotel expenses by staying at mid-priced properties."
