A 21-year-old man has appeared in court in Greece accused of the manslaughter of a fellow British tourist.

A 21-year-old man, of Wirral, Merseyside, was charged with killing a 17-year-old from Peterborough during a nightclub brawl in Faliraki on the island of Rhodes, Reuters news agency reported. The teenager was allegedly stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle.

The 21-year-old will appear before magistrates on the island again on Sunday. He was remanded in custody.

In all, 18 Britons were arrested by police after the incident. Nine have been charged with causing an affray at the Q Club in Faliraki, and will also re-appear in court on Sunday.

A tenth man has been charged with drug offences, but the remainder are reported to have been released.
