Puerto Vallarta is back operating at normal capacity following the impact of Hurricane Patricia over the weekend.
The resort city’s airport and cruise port are both open and receiving arrivals the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board said in an update.
Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Wonder is scheduled to call today as normal, and both Norwegian Jewel and the Ruby Princess, will call on Wednesday as planned.
Shortly after making landfall, Hurricane Patricia was downgraded to a tropical storm and not long after, guests from Puerto Vallarta hotels slowly began returning to their rooms after seeing out the Hurricane in shelters.
Patricia was described as the strongest ever Hurricane to hit the Pacific coast, but damage and casualties were relatively light as it came ashore in sparsely populated area between Puerto Vallarta and the city of Manzanillo.
"This could have been far worse. A little jog to the left, a little jog to the right and we’d be having a different conservation," said Dennis Feltgen, a meteorologist with the US National Hurricane Center.
