Business Travel Partnership switches to Sabre Travel Network
Agency focuses on improved technology to boost business expansion Corporate travel agency Business Travel Partnership (BTP) has contracted to use the Sabre global distribution system (GDS) for travel bookings in its London offices. Migrating from Galileo, the 10 year-old company is using the Sabre system as part of a new technology drive. The £10m business is particularly strong in the conference and incentives market, with clients including the British Royal Household, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. It has always used the latest technologies and was one of the first travel agencies to launch its own website in the 1990s. BTP is using the Sabre for Windows booking platform featuring a new Quick Refunds capability, e-ticketing, electronic services and the personalised Virtually There online itinerary and travel shopping product. Joel Rouet, the agency’s owner and managing director, says that after a period of steady growth the switch to Sabre Travel Network is part of an ambitious expansion plan for the company. “We reviewed all the GDSs and were looking for differentiators that would help us grow our business,” Rouet said. “Ultimately Sabre Travel Network gave us confidence that the team would support the company’s progression and really improve the service we provide to customers.” Rouet said the conversion process was not difficult. “It was a leap of faith to change a system that was at the heart of our business. Many agencies might put up with what they have, but we couldn’t afford to be complacent. We found it wasn’t a complicated process when you work to specific objectives as a team.” About Sabre Travel Network Sabre Travel Network, a Sabre Holdings company, provides access to the world’s leading global distribution system (GDS) and products and services enabling agents at more than 56,000 agency locations worldwide to be travel experts.
