Caesars eyeing Times Square for new casino resort

A touch of Sin City could be coming to the heart of Manhattan.

Caesars Entertainment announced plans for an entertainment and gaming resort in Times Square.

It joined with SL Green Realty Corp to redevelop a Broadway site.

“We believe that Times Square offers the best location for a new resort casino that can attract tourists and benefit local businesses,” said Marc Holliday, CEO of SL Green Realty.

“Our approach will ensure that under-represented communities benefit both in terms of employment and investment opportunities.”

New York State will allow up to three casinos to operate in New York City.

If a license is approved, NYC and the state would benefit by billions in tax revenues
