Carlson Wagonlit claims 40% rise in hotel bookings

Carlson Wagonlit Travel claims to have established itself in the top tier of hotel booking providers with a 40% rise in booking transactions so far this year.

The travel management company opens a hotel service centre in Manchester on July 2 to provide specialist hotel booking and venue finding services.

The centre will become the hub for centralised back office business processes, which have been “re-engineered” to provide extra efficiencies, according to the company.

CWT recently announced a hotel and conferencing contract with HM Revenue & Customs (see previous TravelMole story).

CWT UK business development director Jennifer Charlton said: “Increasingly clients are looking for a ‘one stop shop’ for all their travel services, combining air, rail, hotels, meetings and events. Such consolidation drives tangible savings and improved data management, which also enables us to track travellers and offer the benefits of our security services.”
