Cathay Pacific plans to link Hong Kong with the Holy Land from next spring.
Cathay says it will launch a four-times weekly service to Tel Aviv from 26 March 2017.
The route, which is still awaiting government approval, will be served with Cathay’s new A350-900 aircraft.
"We are excited to be launching a direct link to Tel Aviv, which has established itself as a culturally rich and technologically-advanced business capital. This new service reflects our commitment to growing the Cathay Pacific network and further strengthening Hong Kong’s position as one of the world’s great international aviation hubs," said Cathay Pacific CEO Ivan Chu.
Israeli carrier El Al is the only airline currently serving the route with up to six flights a week in peak season.
