Cathay Pacific working on single pilot operations for long haul flights

Hong Kong based Cathay Pacific is working with plane maker Airbus to develop a system allowing a single pilot to operate long-haul flights for most of the time in the air..
Known as ‘Project Connect’ it aims to certify A350 jets for single-pilot operations during high-altitude cruising, and could be effective by 2025 on Cathay passenger flights, according to reports.
Cathay Pacific confirmed it is involved in the project and there would be ‘absolutely no compromise on safety.’
Cathay said it would involve extensive testing, regulatory approval and pilot training.
