China Airlines pilot quarantine to impact services
With Taiwan ordering plots to undergo mandatory quarantine, China Airlines plans to organise air crews into separate groups to ensure it can continue flying.
Taiwan authorities have implemented the ‘Clearing Plan 2.0’ forcing all pilots into quarantine before reporting for duty again.
It follows a cluster of Covid cases which has infected several plots and some of their family members over the past couple of weeks.
The airline says all available manpower will be mobilised and every effort will be made to ensure that essential flights will continue to operate with available crews.
Passenger and cargo flights are still in the process of adjustment and for now, priority will be given to cargo routes to ensure the flow of goods to and from Taiwan.
It will cancel passenger flights on selected routes while CAL is doing everything possible to continue providing services under the current conditions.
