A Chinese cruise passenger fell overboard during a Royal Caribbean cruise and amazingly survived a 38-hour ordeal stranded in the water.
The ship was travelling from China to Japan when the 32-year-old woman fell over the ship’s guard rail.
She was eventually picked up by a fishing vessel and suffered only from exhaustion and blisters from jellyfish stings.
Her parents had reported her missing to crew of the Mariner of the Seas after she failed to show up after a walk on the deck.
The Chinese Coast Guard was alerted but there was no sign of her until the fishing boat contacted authorities.
A Coast Guard official said she was lucky to survive the fall into the water, let alone a day and a half in freezing waters.
