Colombia sees its post-Covid future in eco-tourism
Sustainable practices have long been a part of rural tourism in Colombia. Local entrepreneurs and the government itself see the value of responsible tourism as the way forward out of the current crisis.
The Colombian government became one of the founding members of the Future of Tourism Coalition, and in the words of one government sustainability adviser, the goal is a sustainable industry ‘based on a commitment to people and planet.’
