Coming up: a bigger Borgota

Thursday, 31 Oct, 2005 0

The upscale Borgota in Atlantic City is underway with a $200 million expansion plan that will add about 20,000 square feet of meeting space, as well as new restaurants and another 800 rooms.

Borgata when it opened in 2003 was the first casino-hotel in more than a decade to open in Atlantic City.

The first phase due to open next summer will have three new restaurants run by famous chefs Bobby Flay, Michael Mina and Wolfgang Puck. All the restaurants will have private dining rooms available for corporate functions.

Borgota’s expansion will also include the 800 rooms which will give a total of 2,800 rooms.

The casino already has 70,000 square feet of meeting space, said sales director Bob Franklin. He said the casino was successful in part because it was an alternative to Las Vegas.
