Costa Group head adds CEO of Carnival Asia to job description

Costa Group CEO Michael Thamm has been appointed CEO of Carnival Asia.
With his responsibilities expanded, Thamm will lead operations in China and across Asia for Carnival Corp brands, as well as continuing at the helm of Costa Group.
"We are committed to accelerating the advancement of the overall cruise industry in China, consistent with the current five-year plan. Michael Thamm will build on the existing strong momentum and Carnival Corporation’s leading position through his proven leadership skills and exceptional industry expertise," said Carnival Corp CEO Arnold Donald.
Thamm said his responsibilities will include driving strategic cooperation with the Chinese government and local partners to ‘develop a robust ecosystem for the sustained development of China’s cruise industry.’
Carnival plans to launch several ships as part of its joint venture partnership with China State Shipbuilding Corp and CIC Capital Corp.
