Cruise lines alter sailings due to Port of New York closure

Friday, 01 Nov, 2012 0

While trouble on land during Hurricane Sandy has been the focus on most of the travel press, cruise lines, too have been affected.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has kept its port facilities closed.  Consequently, several cruise lines, set to dock in New York have had to change their plans.

Crystal Cruises’ Symphony will be skipping a stop in New York and will instead sail straight to Charleston, South Carolina.  Norwegian Cruise Lines Gem will be sailing to New York to wait for the Port of New York to open on the 1st or 2nd.  Princess Cruises Caribbean Princess will now most likely dock in Brooklyn, New York on November 2nd.
