Cruise safety in the spotlight as industry outlines future plans
The cruise industry will unveil further changes to safety and operational procedures at an online press conference on Thursday.
Cruise lines worldwide introduced 10 new policy recommendations earlier this year following the Costa Concordia tragedy.
A panel of four independent experts was set up to be consulted on future proposals.
On Thursday the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and the European Cruise Council (ECC), and these experts will unveil a review of the new policies and will outline future plans for the ongoing development of operational policies.
"Participants will discuss the outcomes of the global cruise industry ‘Operational Safety Review’ with a focus on lessons learned and future operational reviews," said a spokesman.
