Cruise ships resume sailing in US waters
Cruise ships have started sailing US waters again. Small ship lines American Queen Steamboat Co. and American Cruise Lines relaunched over the past few days.
They are small enough to be exempt from the CDC ban, and are US flagged vessels employing American crew.
American Cruise Lines departed at the weekend on a sailing from Amelia Island and Jacksonville, Florida, to Charleston, while AQSC ship American Duchess is sailing between New Orleans and Memphis, Tennessee.
American Queen has imposed a vaccine requirement for all passengers which comes into effect on all sailings beginning 1 July.
