Cruising with Mickey Rooney and Mickey Mouse
Turner Classic Movies is teaming with Disney for the third TCM Classic Cruise, departing from Miami for five days in the Bahamas this December.
Robert Osborne and Ben Mankiewicz, hosts of the cable TV channel, will be aboard the Disney Magic for the movie-themed cruise, along with classic film stars telling behind-the-scenes stories.
The cruise will set sail aboard the Disney Magic on December 8, and stop in Nassau and Disney’s private Castaway Cay.
TCM has yet to reveal the names of the stars who will be sailing on the voyage, but the past two TCM cruises have included appearances by Academy Award winners Ernest Borgnine, Eva Marie Saint, Tippi Hedren, Debbie Reynolds, Mickey Rooney, Arlene Dahl.
There will be movie screenings and panel discussions with the stars as well as trivia contests, TCM says.
Fares for the sailing start at $1,095 per person, based on double occupancy. Lower rates are available for groups.
The TCM cruise will come just two months after the Disney Magic emerges from a major renovation that includes the addition of what’s billed as one of the most thrilling water slides ever on a cruise vessel.
