Crystal cancels 2020 France trips as European leaders differ over ski plan
Crystal Ski Holidays has cancelled all holidays to France for the rest of the year as restrictions continue to paralyse winter travel.
The operator said it will also suspend trips to Andorra, Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, Italy, Norway, Switzerland and the US up to and including 13 December.
Holidays to Canada have been cancelled until 19 December.
The extended France suspension came as European leaders differed over plans to shut down ski holidays over Christmas and the new year.
Leaders in Germany, Italy and France are in favour of the move, with Austria and Switzerland fighting to keep winter sports operating.
On its website, Crystal Ski apologised for the cancellations
"We’re aware of the French President’s recent announcement regarding restrictions in France," the operator said. "We’ll be proactively contacting any customers whose holidays are impacted as soon as possible to discuss their options, prioritising those due to travel in the coming weeks. We are continuing to monitor the situation.
"We’re sorry for the disappointment these updates will cause and we hope we can take you to the mountains soon."
