CSI Media was founded in 1998 and provides bespoke internet booking engines and software development for over 50 travel related companies based on XML and Web Services technology.

CSI Media’s product suite now includes Travel Berry – a Dynamic Packaging Internet Booking Engine. (www.Travelberry.co.uk)

CSI Media?s research showed that many of their current and new clients were looking towards technology in order to establish a stronger foothold in this fiercest of market sectors. CSI Media’s clients have commented on the need to embark on a long term investment in the latest travel technology in order to stay competitive. They therefore decided to build a scaleable long term solution to meet their travel clients need called Travelberry.

The main benefit of our Travelberry system, is its ability to allow clients to ‘pick their own’ suppliers (hence the Travelberry name) and return results in a bespoke environment. Travelberry enables travel companies to choose their own suppliers for more than just flights and accommodation. It offers car hire, tours, ferries, transfer, cruises and much more. These various travel products can be integrated and search results returned in a bespoke web based interface of the clients choosing.

The benefits of packaging the travel products dynamically are that the website users only have to perform a single search to find a full portfolio of associated travel products relevant to their search. Initial feedback showed the simplicity and usability of the system rated highly with users and the increased product range and up-selling capabilities results in larger basket totals for sales on the website itself.

The initial public launch will be held at the World Travel Market on the 14th November 2005, however, the system will already be rolled out to a number of clients prior to the show. With numerous sign ups already in place, CSI Media are confident their Travelberry technology will prove to offer cost effective, market leading functionally for its travel clients.

John Jackson, CSI Media’s Technical Director, says – “The interest in Travelberry from current and new clients has been fantastic. As commissions get tighter, our clients wanted us to build systems that have the ability to offer more than just flights and accommodation on their websites. This is why we focused development time on enabling Travelberry to offer dynamic packaging for almost any travel product.
The current sign ups have all expressed their desire to have a site that is different and we are seeing a dramatic move onto the Travelberry framework rather than using a restrictive re-graphiced white label”.
