Datalex Technology Expands Online Booking for Aeroméxico
Aeroméxico, Latin America’s leading air carrier deploys Datalex travel distribution solution linking air travel, loyalty programs and operational information for millions of passengers Aeroméxico, the leading air carrier of Latin America, has re-launched its Web site with a travel distribution solution supplied by Datalex. Tailored to communicate Aeroméxico’s distinctive personality via its Internet travel portal at www.aeromexico.com, the site offers online travel-booking services integrated with products, promotions and operational information. Combining these services into its multi-language sites will extend the airline’s service commitment to the millions of passengers who fly annually to 159 destinations worldwide and enable it to penetrate deeply into burgeoning global markets for online travel. “The world’s travel market holds exceptional growth opportunities for travel suppliers. The flexible and extensible nature of Datalex’s travel distribution solutions enables our customers to take advantage of this growth to achieve an aggressive return on investment,” said Aidan Brogan, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing for Datalex. “Aeroméxico’s significant commitment to an ambitious e-Commerce initiative will create a powerful electronic distribution network to deliver booking services efficiently, and effectively, across multiple travel markets inside Mexico, and around the globe. This is what you would expect from a leading world carrier.” Built upon the Datalex BookIt! MATRIX™ travel distribution platform, the solution delivers online booking capabilities for air transportation. The extensibility of the BookIt! MATRIX product also ensures that Aeroméxico’s online travel services will meet evolving requirements. The solution is hosted at Datalex’s Managed Services facility in Atlanta. Datalex developed an interface with the EDS SHARES-B central reservations system, in which Aeroméxico’s inventory is maintained. Datalex also built a customized low fare ‘power’ search capable of retrieving restricted and unrestricted public fares from the CRS. “The launch of our new online travel portal is part of an ongoing program of customer service improvements and reconfirms our commitment to making Aeroméxico Latin America’s leading carrier. The solution delivers significant functional Web booking capabilities to our customers and improves the efficiency of our service,” said Augusto Fernandez Kegel Vice President Marketing and e-business, Aeroméxico. The project also called for the integration of rich product, destination and information content into the site. Datalex’s partner company, EPAM, supplied end-to-end Web site design and content management services to the solution. EPAM is a leading provider of software development outsourcing services, e-Business, enterprise relationship management, and content management solutions, and works closely with Datalex on other travel projects.
