Delta Air Lines, EL AL ink strategic partnership
Delta Air Lines and EL AL Israel Airlines will join hands in a strategic partnership.
The tie-up aims to offer more convenient connections for customers flying between the United States and Israel.
The airlines will implement reciprocal airline codeshare and frequent flyer benefits.
This will enable customers to earn and redeem miles across both carriers.
Initially, airline codeshare customers will be able to check in once, with bags checked through to their final destination.
Delta offers up to 200 same-day connections from Tel Aviv via its US gateways Atlanta, Boston, and New York-JFK.
EL AL offers customers additional nonstop service to Tel Aviv from Boston and New York-JFK, along with LAX, Miami, and Newark service.
In time, both carriers will add their respective codes on each other’s flights.
“Enhanced partnerships are integral to our long-term strategy to better connect Delta customers around the world.,” said Matteo Curcio, Delta’s EMEA and India SVP.
