A Delta Air Lines employee cost the airline nearly $500,000 in a fraudulent ticketing scam.
The unnamed ticketing agent pleaded guilty to fraudulently issuing 230 tickets with a value of about $447,000.
He issued ‘non-revenue tickets’ and pocketed payment.
He also issued tickets to family and friends.
The fraud scheme took place from late 2016 through 2017.
He was named as Kquil Muhammad.
“He exploited his position of trust to enrich himself by selling fraudulent tickets,” U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan said.
The former Delta employee awaits sentencing in June.
He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
