Delta first US carrier to open ticket office in downtown Havana

Ahead of the launch of scheduled services to the Cuban capital next month, Delta Air Lines has become the first US carrier to open a downtown Havana ticket office.
 
The office recently opened in the ‘La Rampa’ district and is an important outlet for Cubans Delta currently only accepts Cuban Convertible Pesos.
 
Credit card payments will be rolled out in Cuba soon, the airline said.
 
 "Flexibility of payment is important for our customers and we want to provide them with as many options as possible. We also are going to be offering free Wi-Fi access for city ticket office customers to facilitate researching travel options on delta.com as they wait to purchase their tickets," said Jose Zapata, Delta general manager—Central America and Caribbean.
 
Flights launch on December 1 from Miami, followed by services from New York JFK and Atlanta.
 
"Our three daily flights going to and from Havana are timed to offer customers access to hundreds of destinations," Zapata added.
