Democrats presidential ‘wanna-bees’ beat GOP as desirable travel companions

Tuesday, 5 February 20083 min read

Whether or not they win the election, the 2008 Democratic candidates for president would be more fun or simply more interesting to travel with, according to a TripAdvisor poll.

Republicans turned out to be less appealing in the survey.

In response to the question, ‘Which presidential candidate would you like to travel with?” Illinois Sen. Barack Obama topped the list with 18% of the vote. New York Sen. Hillary Clinton finished second with 13%.

On the GOP or Republican side, 6% answered with Arizona Sen. John McCain, 4% for Mike Huckabee and 3% for Mitt Romney — who finished in last place.

Who would the voters like least to sit next to on an airplane? That question put Hillary Clinton and Mike Huckabee as the least desirable people Americans would like to pull up a seat next to on a flight.

The survey found that Barack Obama is the person Americans would most like to see at the beach, closely followed by ex-Democratic candidate John Edwards. Approximately 30% polled said they would not like to see Hillary Clinton at the beach.

TravelAdvisor had no comment on what this all means.
