Directflights officially launches
Directflights.com, which officially launches this week, is looking for UK travel partners to provide flights, hotels, holidays and car rental.
The site, which had a soft launch during World Travel Market, claims it has cut out the clutter of search by using a unique grid display.
“The advantage of that is that all the information is on one page so the customer can easily see the cheapest price,” said managing director Rob Stross.
“We also have an exclusive agreement with the Carbon Consultancy so that customers can do a green flight search and see airlines ranked based on the carbon emissions, age of fleet and so on.”
He said the site already offers flights with over 500 airlines and 250,000 hotels.
“We’re getting there with the UK market, but we are looking for more partners,” said Stross.
“The other area we are looking at is international, but only English speaking for now.”
Potential partners do not have to pay a set-up fee but instead pay 50p per lead.
The company claims there has been significant interest from tourist offices to provide the technology to set up tailored comparison sites on their behalf.
Stross said Directflights.com can also “white label” the site to provide search facilities for travel publishers, accommodation websites and car hire companies.
