EasyJet celebrates launch of three new Gatwick routes
EasyJet celebrated the launch of a trio of winter routes from London Gatwick.
Flights to Tromso, Norway, Strasbourg in France and Luxor flights all took off this week.
Luxor, Egypt was last served by easyJet from Gatwick over ten years ago while two entirely new destinations, to Tromso in Norway and the French city of Strasbourg, took off for the first time.
The new twice-weekly Tromso flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays throughout winter to one of the best places to view the Northern Lights.
The new connection to Strasbourg in France, another brand-new destination for easyJet, operates on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays.
The new Luxor flights operate on Mondays and Thursdays.
Known around the world as the gateway for ancient temples and tombs, Luxor is home to the Valley of the Kings and the tomb of Tutankhamun.
For the first time, easyJet holidays will offer a river cruise package holiday to Luxor, with seven-night Nile River cruises in partnership with Jaz Hotels and Resorts.
It sails from Luxor to Edfu and on to Aswan.
In addition, easyJet holidays has also put city breaks on sale to the Norwegian city of Tromso, offering the chance to take in the Northern Lights or whale watching.
EasyJet holidays has ten handpicked hotels available to book.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “We are thrilled to be inaugurating two brand new routes and to resume our service to Luxor.”

EasyJet is London Gatwick’s largest airline and the largest base in its network.
Earlier this year the airline celebrated carrying 250 million passengers to and from the airport since it started flying there in December 1999.
