An El Al Boeing 787 Dreamliner has been grounded after it struck an electric pole at Las Vegas McCarran Airport.
One of the plane’s wings was badly damaged as well as the pole which reportedly led to an outage.
An initial investigation laid the blame on impatient airport employees.
Ground workers reportedly refused to wait for a colleague to guide the jet to the gate and towed it themselves.
This led to the pole collision.
The jet is now grounded for inspection and repair and El Al apologized for ‘the unpleasantness caused to our customers.’
The return journey to Tel Aviv was canceled.
Customers on that flight were re-accommodated on alternative flights.
El Al launched nonstop flights to Las Vegas in May.
