Malaysia’s highest hotel will rise in Kuala Lumpur with the Southeast Asian debut of Marriott International’s eco-focused brand Element.
In collaboration with owner IB Tower Sdn Bhd, Element Kuala Lumpur will open in March 2017 and is located within the 275-metre high mixed-use Ilham Tower, which was designed by renowned architects Foster+Partners.
It features 252 guestrooms from studio units to three-bedroom suites, a 24/7 fitness centre, spa, an indoor swimming pool, all-day dining venue and meeting space.
"Element is experiencing tremendous growth momentum, fuelled by strong demand from consumers who are increasingly interested in environmentally-friendly practices and sustainable living. In partnership with IB Tower Sdn Bhd, we are thrilled to introduce Element to Kuala Lumpur, a vibrant, forward-thinking city that is an ideal fit for the brand," said Nelli Yong, vice president, brand management at Marriott International Asia Pacific.
The Element brand’s core philosophy is ‘green from the ground up’ with sustainable materials used in construction and eco-wise products including electric vehicle charging stations, 100% non-PVC flooring and energy efficient LED lighting.
"Element’s environmentally aware commitment is perfectly aligned to our own sustainable values which can be seen in the prominently designed Ilham Tower," said Selina Raj, senior manager of Ilham Tower.
Ilham Tower also houses the Ilham Gallery, a public art space, commercial units and restaurants.
It is strategically located in the heart of the city centre close to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and a wealth of downtown shopping and entertainment options.
