Emirates has introduced its Comprehensive Travel Cover, an industry-first insurance product designed to provide extensive protection for travelers, including medical coverage for conflict-related incidents. The new offering is backed by airline-managed hotel accommodation and extended-stay support across a range of disruption scenarios.
When travel plans involve connections with other carriers or Emirates services are unavailable, the airline will also rebook disrupted passengers to their final destination at no additional cost. This includes situations where flights have been canceled due to conflict-related disruptions.
The enhanced product allows customers to travel with greater peace of mind from the moment they book. Developed in partnership with Travel Guard, the cover expands on Emirates’ existing travel insurance offering with broader medical benefits and additional support during disruptions.
Emirates’ Comprehensive Travel Cover includes trip cancellation protection, compensation for baggage delays or loss, and unlimited worldwide medical expense and emergency evacuation coverage, among other benefits. Newly introduced conflict-related protection offers reimbursement of up to US$25,000 for medical expenses and includes a complimentary trip extension of up to 30 days. Most important, the coverage is not limited by government travel advisories.
Supporting Emirates’ “Fly Better” promise and its commitment to customer care, the airline will provide managed hotel accommodation during disruptions, including airspace closures. These measures complement existing customer-friendly policies, such as free ticket date changes for bookings made from April 2 and the ability to hold a fare for 24 hours at no additional charge.
Available from today, Emirates Comprehensive Travel Cover can be purchased at a competitive premium through emirates.com during the booking process or added later through the Manage Booking feature.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, said: “Listening to customer feedback, we realized that travel demand remains strong but there was a gap in the market with regards to travel insurance cover. Therefore, we acted to address our customers’ needs. Together with Travel Guard, a leader in the global insurance industry, Emirates is pleased to offer an enhanced travel insurance product that is as comprehensive as it is reassuring for a wider range of situations. With strong demand for travel in summer, we are proud to offer our customers added confidence in planning their journeys to and through Dubai when they book with Emirates.”
