Eurostar is to scrap its first and premium classes and replace them with a new three-class service from September 1.
The train operator will introduce business class, leisure select and standard to better tailor the product to different markets.
The move follows extensive research among passengers which revealed business travellers want to be as productive as possible on the journey while leisure passengers want greater indulgence.
Commercial director Nick Mercer said: “Business customers want choice, not the restrictions of a single class of service offered on many airlines. While some airlines are losing their share of the business flyers, our significant investment reiterates our long term commitment to this market.”
The business class service will offer 10-minute check-in, lounge access, at-seat meal service and power sockets. A chauffeur service will also be offered at additional cost.
Leisure Select will include 30-minute check-in, larger seat pitch, at-seat meal service and power sockets while standard service will provide a 30-minute check-in and a buffet.
