Taiwan’s EVA Air has inked a deal with Avianca to bring Central and South America closer for Asian customers via North America.
A code-sharing pact between the two carriers has taken effects and offers through ticketing and onward connections to San Salvador.
Likewise, Avianca passengers can connect through Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco for flights on EVA to Taipei.
Avianca is the main Star Alliance member airline for the Central and South America region.
The agreement offers up to 20 flights a week from Taiwan to San Salvador, which takes approximately 20 hours including transit time.
Fellow Star Alliance member Eva Air has codeshare agreements with more than a dozen airlines globally, including Singapore Airlines, Air Canada and United Airlines.
